What Is in Nutrafol Men? Every Ingredient on the Label, and the Amounts It Does Not Print

This article reads one label, line by line: the Supplement Facts panel of Nutrafol Men, the Core formula, as published on nutrafol.com and read on 24 September 2026. Every figure below comes from that panel or from that product page. Where the label gives an amount, we print it. Where it does not, we say so and show what stands in its place.

What is in Nutrafol Men?

Nutrafol Men names 24 active ingredients on its Supplement Facts panel: ten vitamins and minerals, six ingredients inside a group called the Synergen Complex, and eight inside a group called the Nutrafol Blend. The serving is four capsules a day and a container holds 30 servings.

The ten that stand on their own lines are vitamin A 1,500 mcg RAE, vitamin C 60 mg, vitamin D3 62.5 mcg, vitamin E 3.5 mg, biotin 3,000 mcg, iodine 225 mcg, zinc 25 mg, selenium 200 mcg, sodium 10 mg and potassium 20 mg. The panel also prints 10 calories, 1 g of carbohydrate and 1 g of protein.

The other fourteen are named but not measured. Six of them sit under Synergen Complex, 1.72 g: saw palmetto extract (fruit, 45% fatty acids), hydrolyzed marine collagen, Sensoril ashwagandha extract (root and leaf), BCM-95 Bio-Curcumin turmeric extract (rhizome, 86% curcuminoids), palm extract (fruit, 15% tocotrienol) and hyaluronic acid. Eight sit under Nutrafol Blend, 575 mg: L-lysine, L-cysteine, L-methionine, horsetail extract, Japanese knotweed extract (root, 50% resveratrol), keratin, black pepper extract (fruit, 95% piperine) and cayenne extract (fruit, 2% capsaicinoids).

Where the panel lives, and why that matters

On 24 September 2026 the panel is not on the product page as text. It opens in a window behind a button marked View Supplement Label, and what opens is a picture of the panel. A person can enlarge it. A screen reader cannot speak it, a search engine cannot index its figures, and an answer engine asked "how much saw palmetto is in Nutrafol Men" has nothing to quote. That is why a search for the ingredient list of a product that publishes its ingredient list still comes back empty — the list exists, as pixels.

Which of those ingredients print an amount, and which do not?

Ten of the 24 ingredients on the Nutrafol Men label print an individual amount, and 14 do not. Counting only the actives and setting aside the sodium and potassium a capsule contributes, the panel attaches about 93 mg a day to a named ingredient and places 2,295 mg behind two group totals — the Synergen Complex at 1,720 mg and the Nutrafol Blend at 575 mg.

Those two numbers are the whole answer to "what is in Nutrafol Men". The botanicals and proteins the product is built on — saw palmetto, marine collagen, ashwagandha, curcumin, keratin — are all in the 2,295 mg. The 93 mg that is itemised is the vitamin and mineral part, and those amounts are itemised because 21 CFR 101.36(c)(1) requires it even inside a blend.

What you can work out anyway

A blend gives you a ceiling. The rule requires the ingredients to be listed in descending order of weight, so saw palmetto, listed first of the six in a 1,720 mg complex, is the heaviest of them: it cannot weigh less than a sixth of the total, about 287 mg, and it cannot weigh more than 1,720 mg. Hyaluronic acid, listed last of six, cannot weigh more than a sixth, about 287 mg, and could be a milligram. Keratin is sixth of eight in a 575 mg blend, so it caps at about 72 mg. Those are arithmetic limits, not doses, and nothing on the label narrows them.

What is the Synergen Complex, and what does a total hide?

The Synergen Complex is a proprietary blend: a group name over a single weight, 1.72 g, covering six ingredients whose individual amounts are not published. The label prints the group's total and the order of its ingredients by weight, which is what the regulation asks of it, and nothing more.

The practical consequence is that two of the comparisons a buyer would want to make cannot be made. You cannot compare Nutrafol Men's saw palmetto with the 320 mg a day used in the published prostate trials, because the label does not say what its saw palmetto weighs. You cannot compare its marine collagen with the 2.5 to 10 g a day used in the published collagen peptide trials, for the same reason. The standardisations are printed — 45% fatty acids, 86% curcuminoids, 15% tocotrienol — which is more than many labels give, and they are percentages of an amount the label withholds.

The word "complex" is not the tell

Nothing turns on whether a label says "blend", "complex" or a brand name. What matters is the arithmetic underneath: if the lines under a heading each carry their own milligram and those milligrams add up to the printed total, nothing is hidden. If there is a total and no lines under it, the total is all you get. Our survey of 40 men's hair supplements found 22 of them using at least one group total this way, with the weight behind a single figure running from 20 mg to 2,295 mg a day.

Is a proprietary blend against the rules?

No. 21 CFR 101.36(c) expressly permits it. A manufacturer may group dietary ingredients under a proprietary name, and must then list them in descending order by weight and print the total weight of the group. Vitamins and minerals inside the group keep their own amounts. What the rule does not require is the amount of each ingredient inside the blend.

So Nutrafol is complying with a rule that lets a brand say less. That is a statement about disclosure, not about quality, and it is worth being precise about it: a proprietary blend is not evidence that a formula is weak, and publishing every amount is not evidence that a formula works. Nutrafol is a trademark of its owner, and the company has run clinical work on its formula that most of this category has not.

What the rule does mean is that the choice belongs to the brand. Printing every amount costs nothing but the willingness to be checked.

What no hair supplement label can tell you, ours included

No Supplement Facts panel — Nutrafol's, ours, or anyone's — tells you whether the formula works, whether the amounts printed are the amounts in the capsule, or whether a dose matches the doses used in published research. A panel answers one question: what does the brand say is in here, and in what quantity.

Three things about our own label belong in this article rather than in a place a reader has to go looking for.

We use two group headings too — here is the difference, checkable in thirty seconds

BLOOHAIR MEN's panel carries Bloohair Blend, 1,110 mg and Men's Hair Vitality Complex, 600 mg. A reader who has just read the section above is right to ask what makes those different from a proprietary blend. The answer is arithmetic: under each total, every line carries its own milligram, and the lines add up to the total. Keratin 250 mg, hydrolyzed marine collagen 250 mg, MSM 200 mg, ashwagandha 100 mg at 5% withanolides, turmeric 100 mg at 95% curcuminoids, bamboo silica 50 mg, hyaluronic acid 50 mg, fo-ti 50 mg, reishi 50 mg, black pepper 10 mg — that is 1,110 mg. Saw palmetto 200 mg at 45% fatty acids, nettle root 100 mg, pygeum 100 mg, pumpkin seed 100 mg, grape seed 100 mg at 95% OPCs — that is 600 mg. A proprietary blend is the opposite shape: a total, and nothing underneath it. The full panel is published as text, both totals and all 22 lines, with the % Daily Value column.

And the three things our own label does not settle

Our biotin is 3,000 mcg, 10,000% of the Daily Value. That is the dose the category has standardised on, not a dose established by research: the NIH Office of Dietary Supplements describes the evidence for biotin and hair as limited to case reports and small studies in people who were deficient. At that level biotin also interferes with common blood tests, which is why we publish the FDA safety communication on the product page and wrote a whole article about when to stop before a lab draw. Our hydrolyzed marine collagen is 250 mg, ten to forty times below the 2.5 to 10 g a day used in the published collagen peptide trials. And no controlled trial has tested this formula; none is commissioned, and the words "clinically proven" appear nowhere on this site.

We print those three sentences because a panel that only tells you what is in the bottle has told you half of what you need.

What does Nutrafol Men cost per month?

Read on nutrafol.com on 24 September 2026, Nutrafol Men is $88 for a single bottle plus $6.95 shipping, or on a subscription with free shipping: $79 for a one-month supply each month, $224 for a three-month supply with refills every three months — $74.67 a month — and $422 for a six-month supply with refills every six months, $70.33 a month. The page carries no notice restricting those figures to a first order.

Set against that, BLOOHAIR MEN is $54.99 a month on its 90-day AutoShip at renewal — $164.97 a cycle, $1.83 a day — or $64.99 a month on the monthly plan. Compared like for like, a three-month recurring plan against a three-month recurring plan, that is $54.99 against $74.67: $19.68 a month apart, for the same four-capsule serving. Our first order is cheaper still, and that figure stays out of this comparison on purpose — setting an introductory price against a competitor's standing price is not a comparison, and a reader who checks will catch it.

Which men's hair supplements print an amount for every ingredient?

Of the men's formulas we have read, BLOOHAIR MEN prints an individual amount for all 22 of its ingredients, as selectable text, which makes 1,958 mg of named actives a day that a buyer can attribute to a specific ingredient and 0 mg behind a group total. Nutrafol Men prints 10 of 24, about 93 mg attributable and 2,295 mg behind two totals.

What sits behind our own figures

An amount printed is an amount claimed until a laboratory measures it. Ours have been measured, and the document is published: the finished-product certificate of analysis for lot 0125269 is transcribed in full on the Lab Tests page — every label claim, the test method, the measured result and the result as a percentage of claim, for all 22 ingredients, with microbiology and heavy metals. So is the allergen test report issued by Contract Testing Laboratories of America on 19 December 2025: gluten below 4 ppm, soy below 0.04 ppm, milk below 0.4 ppm, each by ELISA — test results, not adjectives. So is the manufacturing facility's NSF Certificate of Conformity to NSF/ANSI 455-2 — 2024, which covers 21 CFR Part 111 and Part 117, issued 30 April 2026 and valid to 24 June 2027: BLOOHAIR MEN is made in an NSF/ANSI 455-2 certified facility in the United States. The certification covers the facility and its processes, not the formula, and it is not a clinical trial.

The certificate is published whole, including the two results that came in above claim — zinc measured 37.00 mg against a 25.00 mg label claim, vitamin C 222.86 mg against 200.00 mg — because a certificate you publish only when it flatters you is not a published certificate.
